Studio lights can add a striking edge to a portrait. I love how much diversity you can achieve, just by moving the lights to a new location in relation to the model. Here, we have beautiful Stephanie, who models for me more often than most. We were able to capture a truly stunning set of images using different lighting techniques and setups. The majority of my shoots (for women and girls) are completed with entirely natural light in my studio, but on the ambitious occasion, I will pull out the lights for a completely unique, highly magazine-worthy photo.
Rembrandt Lighting Technique – a beautiful way to create depth in a portrait.
Believe it or not, this image has no natural light element involved. It is back-lit with strobes, which were set to such a powerful level, that the light wrapped around.
This image was lit with single softbox at a 45 above, and close-up. You can’t create this look easily with natural light.
