Erie Colorado Senior Portraits

Should you get senior portraits taken at the end of the school year?

Senior Portrait Shoots in Colorado tend to take place the summer before senior year starts. Summertime is a perfect time to do senior portraits!  The weather is usually cooperative in the summer (and can be the most lovely during the early evening hours), making for gorgeous images, and summertime photo shoots for high school seniors are perfect timing so that the year book head shot is ready to go in October when most high schools require them.

Graduation, though, doesn’t happen for nearly a year after senior portraits are taken. Graduation time is when a lot of your senior portraits will be used. From printed photos to put up at the graduation party to graduation party invitations, photo graduation announcements, and gifts for grandparents, using nearly year-old photos for these fun, exciting events can seem sort of anti-exciting.  These photos have been shared, loved, and posted for months already.  It’s because of this, that I decided to start offering Senior Update Sessions. These quick photo shoots happen just before graduation celebration preparations begin, in late March of the high school senior’s graduating year. Photo shoots include graduation announcements, include 2 outfits, and a good handful of brand new images to use!  The seniors love them.

We’re just getting started with this year’s Update season.  Peyton, who I had the absolute privilege of photographing last summer, came in for her Senior Update Session today. We got some incredible variety and beautiful new photos she can use for announcements and her party. Thank you for allowing me to share them with you!
